As we wind up another extremely engaging year full of creative challenges, we are so happy to announce our final Book Cover Design Contest in 2024! It has been one of our Pro Member Students’ favorite contests, and this time, it is open to all. Whether you are an up-and-coming graphic designer or an old-timer in the field, this is your chance to really shine and get your design included in a real-world project. So, get ready to really put on the big show and amaze everyone with what you can create!
How to Enter the Book Cover Design Contest
Entering is simple. Just follow the steps below to submit your designs for the chance to win:
Read the Design Brief:
To get started, make sure to read through the design brief (provided below). It includes everything you need to know about the project, such as the required design elements and style guidelines.
Submit Your Designs:
Once you’ve crafted your book cover, you can submit it directly through our submission portal before the deadline on 11th December. Make sure your design meets the brief requirements, including the appropriate file formats (PDF, JPG, or PNG).

Hang on in your calendars! 12th, December: we shall be live on YouTube to announce the winners. It’s on at 2 PM GMT-the live review of the designs and up to 3 winners selected. It’s a great opportunity for you to get feedback about their design process-whether they win or not-and for other creatives to learn too!
The Design Brief: Create a Cover for My Vegan Kitchen
The project of this contest is to design a cover for a cookbook called My Vegan Kitchen. The volume intends to provide affordable and healthy avenues into vegan cooking for people determined to eat well without breaking bank. The design needs to encapsulate the essence of this lifestyle while appealing to 16+ audiences eager to try out new ways of cooking wholesome meals without spending.
Oh, are requirements to make a stunning book cover besides the Front Panel, Spine, and Back Panel- all components have to be included in your design to make it look complete and professional. If you’re feeling really creative, you could also consider including Front and Back Wraps for an even higher polished finish.
Visual Style: Natural and earthy would be the tone- think fresh greens, warm browns with simple elegance to echo the beauty of healthy, plant-based food.
Illustrations, Stock Photography, or Generated Images: Diversities of various design elements-from the custom illustration to stock photos or AI-generated visuals-could be employed. Just create a final product that feels cohesive and real to the spirit of the project.
Target Audience:
Who are we designing for?
Vegan eaters aged 16+ are going to be the target audience and they are looking for delicious, healthy meals designed for a tight budget. These people care about what type of stuff goes in their bodies, however, not at all at the expense of their fortune in the kitchen. They would be interested in getting some practical and easy-to-follow yet nourishing food recipes.
Submissions: The maximum number of entries permissible is three. Each entry must contain the refined final design either as a PDF, JPG, or PNG file.
The submission must be adequately reviewed according to the guidelines so that it contains everything needed before the deadline.
Submission Deadline:
All submissions should be in by the 11th of December (Wednesday) in order to qualify.

Own Your Work: All creatives who enter the contest hold full rights to their designs. This is an experimental and developmental environment without the risk of anyone infringing on the designers’ intellectual property rights.
